PATTON - Two Cambria County residents were charged with conspiracy Wednesday after planning to burglarize the Patton Moose Lodge, police said.
Brandon Allen Eck, 22, of Patton and Alexis Kaylynne Wheeler, 19, of Cresson were charged after police investigated a reported robbery early Wednesday morning at the Moose, police said.
Wheeler, who was an employee at the Moose lodge, called 911 and said she was tending the bar when she heard a knock on the door, police said. She told police that she answered the door and was attacked by an unknown person who grabbed her by the back of her neck, dragged her through the bar and took all the money in the cash register.
Police said that Wheeler and Eck, her boyfriend, conspired a week earlier to plan the incident and stage the robbery to take money from the Moose lodge.
Eck, who was a patron at the bar Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, police said, dressed up in a long wig, a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey and cowboy boots as a disguise. Police later found these items in a trash recepticle.
Eck stole about $1,150 from the bar's cash register, police said. The incident was recorded on a surveillance system, police said.
Both were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit theft, conspiracy to trespass and receiving stolen property, police said. Wheeler, for calling in the fake robbery, was also charged with making a false report, police said.
