Lorma Fern Anderson, 91, Tyrone, died Friday at the Colonial Courtyard, Tyrone.
She was born in Tyrone, daughter of Denver and Bessie Fern (Miller) Smith. On Jan. 29, 1946, she married Harold F. "Howdy" Anderson in Stowe, Pa. He died on March 15, 1995.
She is survived by two sons: Terry L. Anderson (Dolly) of Mansfield, Pa., and Barry L. Anderson (LeAnn) of Tyrone; grandchildren: Todd Anderson (Denise) of Richmond, Va., Katie and Brian Reese of Gettysburg, Sara and Matt Day of York, Travis Anderson and Julie of Warriors Mark, Jarrod Anderson and Autumn of Philipsburg, and Corey Anderson and Jessica of Tyrone; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Denver "Junior" Smith of Louisville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Louella Grace Myers and Louise E. Bonsell; and a brother, Wayne Smith.
She was a 1941 graduate of Tyrone High School.
Lorma was a homemaker and had retired from the Tyrone Area School District as a Lincoln Elementary School librarian.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, where services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rob Ransom officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
