Ernest E. Keller Sr., 89, formerly of Sinking Valley, died Friday at Homewood at Martinsburg.
He was born in Sinking Valley, son of Arthur and Emma (Stewart) Keller. He married Judy A. McKillip on Nov. 22, 1956, in Los Angeles, Calif., and she died on May 17, 2005, after having shared 48 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Dona Kirk and husband, Lowell, of Duncansville; a son, Ernest Jr. "Bud" and wife, Karen, of Bellwood; a grandson, Brandon Kirk and wife, Lindsey, of Hollidaysburg; a sister, Virginia Shaffer and husband, Jim, of Manheim; a sister-in-law, Mary Keller; and many special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Walter and George.
Ernest served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Tyrone office, with 27 years of service.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. Donald G. Scandrol. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at Arch Springs Cemetery with full military honors by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard.
