Beverly A. Gunsallus, 85, Hollidaysburg, went home to the open arms of her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.
She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Irvin and Beatrice (Fletcher) Blackburn. She married Richard D. Gunsallus on March 14, 1947, at Grace Lutheran Church, Altoona.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Deborah A. Gracey; two sons: Richard (Shirley) and Douglas I. (Linda); eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas.
Beverly was a 1946 graduate of Altoona High School and the co-owner of B and B Confections on 16th Street, Altoona, in the 1950s. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, South Daytona, Fla., and a past member of the Women's Club of Altoona, Daughters of the Nile and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and crafts.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Pastor Roy Steward officiating. Entombment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
