EBENSBURG - Cambria Township police arrested an Ebensburg woman Friday for having alleged sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy at a party.
Police said Leigh Ann Harteis, 31, 470 Friend Lea Road, admitted to having a sexual relationship with the teen after a man reported the incident to police.
The man said he became aware of the relationship after he overheard Harteis talking about the boy at a party Wednesday on the 100 block of Bronco Road.
The man told police he later discovered the two locked in a bathroom at the home and overheard them kissing.
Police said the man told them he attempted to tell the boy's mother, but she seemed unconcerned by the allegations, so he decided to contact police.
When police followed up on the report, they also spoke to the boy's mother, who was "apparently aware of the incident," police wrote in a criminal complaint.
Harteis and the boy both admitted to the relationship in police interviews.
Harteis said the two kissed and performed sex acts after the party about 3 a.m. in a cabin on the 300 block of Grata Road.
She faces a felony charge of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 16 and three misdemeanor charges of indecent assault, disorderly conduct and corruption of minors.
She posted 10 percent of a $35,000 bail Friday.
A preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Fred Creany is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 12.
