Library hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
The library has free eBooks available on your e-reader, PC, IOS or Android device. Download the free app from www.eSebco.com, go to library.eSebco.com and login with your Hollidaysburg Area Public Library card number, login "haplguest" and password "Patron." Local author Lori Closson reads her children’s book “Macaroni Makenzie” in the community room of the new Hollidaysburg Area Public Library. Reservations are being accepted for the use of the new room; interested groups should call 695-5961 to reserve their preferred date and time.
Patrons can now renew books online by creating a free Destiny Quest account using your library card barcode. Go to www.hollidaysburglibrary.org, click on "Catalogs," select "Hollidaysburg Area Public Library"and then "Create Account." n World War I Movies will be shown at 7 p.m. Fridays in?August. They include: Friday - "All Quiet on the Western Front" (1930); Aug. 8 -?"The African Queen" (1951); Aug. 15 -?"Sergeant York" (1941); Aug..22, "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962); and Aug. 29 - "The Officers' Ward" (2001).
n 1 p.m. Aug. 5: "Tea 'N T-Shirts!" (For teens and older). Bring your own T-shirt and tea cup, and learn how to make and decorate a bag or scarf out of your shirt. Space is limited; sign up at the library or by emailing email@example.com.
n 6:30 p.m. Aug. 5: "3-D Origami" with Frank and Irene Ammacher. Many examples of this beautiful handmade paper craft will be on display. Learn how origami based concepts are used in NASA and find out about Nicola Tesla during this program. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Cameras are welcome. n 6:30 p.m. Aug. 6: "Firefighting Show and Tell." Paul Grove III, Gee-seytown assistant fire chief and Hol-lidaysburg and Duncansville paramedic, will share an assortment of equipment and clothing used in firefighting. A small fire truck (approximately pickup truck size) will be outside the library for viewing and picture opportunities. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
n 10:30 a.m. Aug. 7: "Milk: From the Cow to You!" Blair County Dairy Princess Jessica Orezeck will hold a storytime ("Out and About at the Dairy Farm") and activity time, followed by milkshake samples. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

n 1 p.m. Aug. 12: "Henna Temporary Tattoos for Teens." Learn about this ancient art and choose from a variety of designs or create your own. Space is limited; sign up by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
n 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12: "The Scoop on Poop!" with Jody Wallace of the Blair County Conservation District. Learn how animals use poop to build homes, attract partners, communicate, cool off and more. Identify native PA wildlife scat (using less smelly rubber replicas). Dissect a clay scat model and become a Dung Detective, discovering what that animal ate. n 10:30 a.m. Aug. 14: "Miss Amy Sings: Disney Showcase!" Amy Podoletz has performed at Cresson Lake Playhouse and in high school productions. She is a private voice student of Patti Jimenez. Dress as your favorite Disney character and sing along. Geared for preschoolers but all are welcome.
n 2 p.m. Aug. 14: The French Connection Summer Book Club meets to discuss "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" by Victor Hugo. Books are available for purchase at the library; no signup is needed. This event is for adults.

n 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25: Costumed members of 501st Legion: Star Wars Garrison Carida will visit the library to celebrate all things Star Wars. The library's collection of Star Wars books, magazines, audiobooks and movies will be on display, and there will be crafts and activities sponsored by the Friends of the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library.
