A Tyrone man is behind bars in Huntingdon County on charges he molested a boy two decades ago.
State police in Huntingdon arrested Tobias T. Benson, 41, of 302 Shippen St. on Friday after a yearlong investigation into allegations he sexually assaulted a boy in Warriors Mark between 1993 and 1996.
According to state police, Benson was between 20 and 24 at the time of the alleged abuse of a boy who was then between the ages of 9 and 12.
The alleged victim, now 30 years old, made the allegations in July 2013, court records show. A state police investigator noted in the affidavit of probable cause that the abuse involved Benson fondling and performing oral sex on the boy and forcing the boy to reciprocate the sex acts.
Benson allegedly bought the boy toys, clothes, shoes and other items, and if the boy tried to get away from him, Benson reportedly would hold him down and force himself on him.
The alleged victim was interviewed by Trooper Gretchen Swank again July 9 and gave more details about the alleged abuse, according to court records. The alleged victim also provided police with the names of other men that Benson may have abused over the years, police noted.
Benson was arraigned Friday by Magisterial District Judge Douglas Gummo on 75 felony counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 13 and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion as well as 75 misdemeanor counts of indecent assault of a person under the age of 13.
Benson remains in Huntingdon County Jail in lieu $500,000 cash bail with a preliminary hearing scheduled for District Court in Alexandria on Aug. 5.
