Robert A. Piper Sr., 69, Altoona, died Thursday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Clinton and Catherine (Hileman) Piper. He married Patricia C. Estright on June 1, 1968.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Robert A. Jr. (Beth) of Altoona; a daughter, Pamela M. Harker (Doug) of Altoona; two grandchildren: Jacob R. and Adam F. Piper; three brothers: Ken (Jolene) of Duncansville, Clinton (Tanya) of Hollidaysburg and Allen; and a sister, Doreen of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Robert retired in 2005 as a subcontractor for Sears and was owner of R.A. Piper Remodeling. He was a member of Cannon Station Mennonite Church in Altoona and was a volunteer firefighter for the Allegheny Township Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Cannon Station Mennonite Church, 865 Burns Ave., Altoona, where a memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. by Pastor Jack Styer. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
