Antonia "Toni" Way, 91, Spring Hill, Fla., died Monday morning in Brooksville, Fla.
She was born in Hoensbroek, Limburg, the Netherlands, daughter of the late Gerrit and Johanna (Rutten) Bekker. She married Lee Way on May 4, 1946, in Holland.
Surviving are her husband; four children: Charles B.G. Way and wife, Paulette, of Clearfield, Jeffrey L. Way and Cheryl A. Woomer, both of Duncansville, and Jessie M. McQueen and husband, Jim, of Spring Hill, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two very special nieces: Jose and Hetty; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gerrit C.L. Way, on Aug. 10, 1998; a son-in-law, Gary L. Woomer, on Dec. 31, 2009; and a great-grandson, Christian Samuel Way, in 1996. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Toni was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Clearfield. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and cruises. She made great fudge. Her real enjoyment was spending time with her entire family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Clearfield, the Rev. John L. Miller officiating. Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
