CHICAGO, Ill - Four women's soccer players will have the opportunity to represent Penn State on the international stage.
Brittany Basinger, Rose Chandler and Emily Ogle will compete for spots on the U.S. Under-20 and Under-18 Women's National Teams, and Raquel Rodriguez is a member of the Costa Rican Women's National Team.
Sophomore Basinger and incoming freshman Chandler are currently in Seattle, Wash., for a two-week training camp with the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team. The camp is the final event before the 21-person roster competing at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup is announced. The 2014 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, hosted by Canada, occurs Aug. 5-24. Penn State coach Erica Walsh is an assistant coach for the U.S. U-20 team.
Incoming freshman Ogle earned an invitation to a U.S. U-18 team training camp in Mexico City July 22-28. The training camp identifies future members of the U.S. U-20 team that will compete at the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in South Africa.
