Daniel W. "Butch" Klock, 67, Altoona, died Tuesday evening at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late George A. and Ruth A. (Eger) Klock. He was twice married, first to Mary Ann Blendl, who died April 29, 1997. He then married Linda M. Harber on May 2, 1986, in Maui, Hawaii.
Surviving are his wife; two children: Daniel W. II and Miranda A., both of Altoona; a stepson, Brady Adams of Altoona; four grandchildren; and eight siblings: Patricia Burgess in Michigan, Georgia Griggs of Conneaut Lake, Ruth Ann Mishock of State College, John of Altoona, Helen Ulicine of Huntingdon, Michael of Puzzletown, Virginia Powers of New Market, Md., and Timothy of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie A.; and a sister, Sarah.
Dan was a 1965 graduate of Central High School. He retired in 2011 as a self-employed contractor with 40 years of service. Previously he had worked for PPG Industries and had attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona.
Dan was a former member of the Blair/Bedford Builders Association and served as president of the Rural Housing Committee and Iron Masters Country Club. He enjoyed fishing and golf.
At Dan's request, there will be no visitation or service. A private memorial Mass will be celebrated at the convenience of the family at a later date.
