Paul G. Rodland Sr., 85, Warriors Mark, died Tuesday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of Albert Ross and Esther (Echard) Rodland. He married Shirley Elizabeth Wheland on May 7, 1955.
Surviving are his wife; three sons: Paul G. Jr. (Justine) of Warriors Mark, David A. of Tyrone and James A. (Amy) of Warriors Mark; four grandchildren: David, Skylar, Kristen and Michael Rodland; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Wallace of Hollidaysburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne Sellers; three grandsons: Shawn Sellers and Jeremy and Brent Rodland; two brothers: Harold and Carl; and two sisters: Mary Rodland and June Thomas.
Paul was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean era. He had worked at Long's Dairy, Tyrone, and then for 17 years at Penn State University in housing. He enjoyed camping for many years and liked to mow lawns.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, and 12:30 until the 1:30 p.m. funeral service Friday, July 18, 2014, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, Pastor Randy Zitterbart officiating. Interment will follow at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.
