Dorothy Mallett Williams, 89, was called home to Glory on Aug. 30, 2013, at Epworth Manor, Tyrone. She previously had resided at her home at 2300 10th Ave., Altoona.
She was born in Claysburg, daughter of William and Pinky (Gaston) Kimbrough.
Her loving memory will live on in the lives of her five children: Dr. Ronald Mallett, Jason Mallett, Keith Mallett, Eve Mallett and Anita (Williams) Whelan; seven grandchildren: Elizabeth, Joshua, Bradley, Christopher, Jessica, Daniel and Jennifer; and a great-grandchild, Boyd.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Boyd Mallett and Julius Williams.
Dorothy graduated from Claysburg High School and retired as a hospital dietary aide at Mercy Hospital after a long and fulfilling career. She was a longtime member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she had served as a deaconess emeritus, a member of the Sunday school and usher board, and a member of the Sallie Harris Missionary Ministry. She loved God, her family and her church family.
It is the wish of the family that, in lieu of cards or flowers, donations be made to Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church to support the work of the church that she loved so dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 2121 Fifth Ave., Altoona.
