Robert B. "Bob" Rupert Sr., 70, Altoona, died Tuesday at UPMC Altoona after a long-term illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of William Blair and Mae Catherine (Stoudt) Rupert. He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Clapper, on April 13, 1963.
Surviving are his wife; three sons: Robert Jr. and wife, Jen, of Laureldale, Rodney of Altoona and Ryan and wife, Theresa, of Altoona; a daughter, Tina Greenawalt and husband, Michael, of Virginia Beach, Va.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, William and wife, Beth, in Maryland.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy; and two sisters: Dorothy Orr and Tess Harpster.
Bob was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School and earned a CDL license. He drove a truck for 31 years and was the former owner of Blair Upholstery and Vito's Pizza, Lakemont. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, shooting pool and playing the guitar and keyboard.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery Chapel by Pastor John Townsend.
In lieu of flowers, Robert requested that donations be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
