C. Oliver Knisely, 73, Queen, passed away Tuesday at home.
He was born in Claysburg, son of the late Harry and Lydia (Walter) Knisely.
Surviving are a son, Douglas and wife, Amy, of Claysburg; a daughter, Candy Wachsmuth and husband, Brad, of Cantonsville, Md.; six grandchildren: Katie, Dustin, Douglas, Garrett, Lydia and Anna; a brother, Ben of King; and two sisters: Annabelle Weyant of Bedford and Barbara Miller of Woodbury.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary "Goob"; two brothers: Clarence and Robert; and three sisters: Dorothy Crosby, Jane Black and Florence Glass.
Oliver was a 1958 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School. He retired from the Maintenance Department of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home in 1998 after more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today, July 10, 2014, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at Claysburg Bible Church, 11751 William Penn Road, Imler, Pastors Keith Showalter and Ron Bashore officiating. Interment will be at Greenfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society or the Claysburg Food Bank.
