Peter F. Fusco, 84, Altoona, passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of Francesco and Lucy (Tartaglia) Fusco. He married Mary E. Winnerl on May 10, 1952. She preceded him in death on Feb. 26, 2006.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen Garman; a son, David and fiance, Sharon, all of Altoona; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sally Jackson.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Polly (McConnell) Pross, Katie Kaufman and Mary Jane Fusco.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Altoona.
Pete retired from Conrail as a foreman in 1991.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corp as a private during the Korean War.
Pete enjoyed gardening, woodworking, model trains and playing bocce.
He was a member of Cesare Battisti Club and The Buccinese Club.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014, in Santella Funeral Home where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church by Monsignor Timothy Stein. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors.
