The Mirror announces the following guidelines for Couples announcements:
For free engagement and wedding announcements, couples or their parents must have lived in the Mirror coverage area. The city must be designated.
Engagement stories should be submitted at least six weeks before the wedding.
Wedding stories should be submitted within six months after the wedding.
For free anniversary announcements, the couple must have lived in the Mirror coverage area. The city must be designated. Free announcements can be published in five-year increments starting with the 25th anniversary.
Couples who are celebrating their anniversary should submit their information within three months after the event or at least one month before an open house.
To help couples announce their event, engagement, wedding and anniversary forms with further details are available at the Mirror office orat www.altoonamirror.com. Information that is unclear or incomplete will not be used.

The Mirror wants to help couples celebrate their special day by offering an additional service. Couples may add certain information that does not adhere to our policy, at the discretion of the editor, for a charge of $25.
For instance, a bride and groom may add grandparents' names or the cities where their attendants reside.
Couples celebrating an anniversary may list the names of their children's spouses and the names of grandchildren for the fee or may announce an anniversary that does not fall into the Mirror's criteria of publishing anniversaries in the five-year increments starting with the 25th.
High-quality photos or digital photos in JPEG format should be submitted and will be used at the discretion of the editor. Computer prints and laminated photos will not be considered.
Photos can be picked up at the Mirror receptionist's desk, second floor, 301 Cayuga Ave., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.
