Susan Edith Piotti, 80, Altoona, died Thursday at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Atwood and Clementine (Suydam) Sands. She married Joseph J. Piotti Sr. on Nov. 28, 1952, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1989.
Surviving are three sons: Joseph James Jr. (Lynda) of Coupon and Michael Louis and Brian James (Cindy), both of Altoona; a daughter, Theresa Lynn Vogel (Thomas) of Altoona; 10 grandchildren: Justin, Josh (Dawn), Jeremy, Shawna, Sydney, Paige, Rachael, Samara Jo, Mya Jo and a grandson to be born July 1; two great-grandchildren: Riley and Callie; two sisters: Vivian Muldoon and Jane Hamilton, both of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Bruce Sands (Lois) in Delaware; a sister-in-law, Josephine Gagliardi of Morton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Duart.
Susan had been employed at Bell Telephone, Sears, Blair Chem-Dry and Philadelphia Joes and most recently had baby-sat her two granddaughters. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Assembly of God and enjoyed traveling to the beach, visiting her family and working on her home.
Friends will be received from noon until the 4 p.m. funeral service Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Pleasant Valley Assembly of God, 801 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, Pastor Jim Balzano officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Altoona.
