William W. Murray Jr., 91, Duncansville, died Saturday at Allegheny Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late William W. and Verda (Hilty) Murray Sr. In 1953, he married Roberta (Spidle) Heininger. She preceded him in death in January of 1977.
He is survived by two sons: William W. Murray III and wife, Beth, of Hummelstown, Stephen Murray and wife, Barbara, of Hollidaysburg; four stepsons: Ronald Heininger and wife, Lois, of Strongsville, Ohio, Robert Heininger and wife, Marilyn, Richard Heininger and wife, Connie, all of Hollidaysburg, and Rodney Heininger and wife, Pauline, of Dauphin; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Jane Shoup, in Maryland.
Mr. Murray retired from Bell Telephone in 1982 with 40 years of service.
He graduated from Altoona High School.
William served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of numerous Beagle Clubs, Blair County Genealogical Society and the Roaring Spring YMCA.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. A private funeral service will be held.
