Robert M. "Bob" Hartman Jr., 59, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly Friday of a heart attack.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert M. Sr. and Mary Louise (Pfister) Hartman.
Surviving are five sisters: Maureen Pike and husband, Ray, Judith Burkholder and husband, George, Mickey Nail and husband, Bernie, Helen Rentz and husband, Jerry, and Denise Wharton and husband, Harry; numerous nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Bob was a graduate of Altoona High School. He was currently employed by Norfolk Southern as a yard engineer and had worked for Norfolk and Conrail for over 35 years.
Bob was a very dedicated son to his parents and a loving and caring brother to his sisters. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, at Scaglione Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held Monday evening. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at St. John's Catholic Church, Lakemont, by Monsignor Michael A. Becker. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
