Tyrone Fitness Center offers program
TYRONE - The Tyrone Fitness and Wellness Center will provide a free educational program, "The Great Outdoors - Maximize Your Health and Fun."
The program will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. July 10 in the main lobby at the new Tyrone Health & Wellness Building, which is on the Tyrone Regional Health Network campus at 154 Hospital Drive.
The program will be presented by Mary Kowalski, certified athletic trainer.
Participants will learn how to take their usual indoor workout and move it outdoors for twice the benefit. They will also learn some basic exercise moves for increasing motivation to get fit or stay fit, how to use the backyard, local or state park, beach or woods as an exercise setting and learn some helpful resources to open the door to various activities, events and outdoor pursuits.
Program attendees can also participate in an organized local outdoor excursion, details will be shared during the presentation.
The program is free and open to the public. RSVP is requested as seating is limited. To reserve a seat or for more information, call 684-2117.
Canoe Creek playground seeks donors
HOLLIDAYSBURG - The Friends of Canoe Creek State Park, which is a chapter of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation, a nonprofit organization, is trying to raise $25,000 to provide a playground for the visitors to Canoe Creek State Park, to be installed this year.
Indididuals, as well as businesses, can send donations (checks payable to PPFF, with Canoe Creek Playground Fund in the memo line) to PPFF, 1845 Market St., Suite 202, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
Dairy Day set at courthouse
HOLLIDAYSBURG - Area residents can enjoy free ice cream sundaes on Friday in front of the Blair County Courthouse in celebration of Dairy Month. They will be available from noon until all the ice cream is gone.
A representative from the Blair County Dairy Court will be on hand to serve the sundaes.
This salute to agriculture and June Dairy Month is sponsored by The Chamber's award-winning Farm-City Committee and Ritchey's Dairy.

Farm, craft market to begin July 8
HOLLIDAYSBURG - The Hollidaysburg Farm & Craft Market will be held from July 8 through Oct. 17.
It will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays on Montgomery Street near the Diamond.
It will include local fresh produce, granola, baked goods, jellies, relishes, soaps, lotions, jewelry, crafts, and more.
Vendors are encouraged to join the market as long as their products are homemade and homegrown.
