William Roy "Bill" "Billy Willy" Creamer, 75, Altoona, died Wednesday morning at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown.
He was born in Hollidaysburg son of the late Raymond and Ruth Creamer. He married Bertha Vasbinder on June 1, 1963, in Canoe Creek.
Surviving are his wife; a son, William and wife, Karen, of Altoona; two daughters: Michelle Creamer and Jennifer Kirk and husband, Darrin, all of Altoona; four grandchildren: Jeremy Creamer, Erin Pierson and Brittany and Amber Kirk; three brothers: Jack, Bob and George; two sisters: Kay and Helen; two brothers-in-law: Bob Vasbinder and wife, Norma, and Jim Vasbinder.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Joann Creamer; a granddaughter, Kelli Pierson; several brothers and sisters; a brother-in-law, Dave Vasbinder; and his in-laws, whom he adored.
Bill was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard for eight years. He retired as a backhoe operator for the Altoona Water Authority in 2001 after 33 years of service. He was a member of Canan Station Mennonite Church, where he was actively involved with fundraisers, and a life member of the Bavarian Aid Society.
Bill enjoyed camping, hunting, bluegrass jams, golf and playing cards. He was a Golden Gloves boxing champion. He was a very kind and generous man and loved his family and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Jack Styer officiating.
