Myrtle Anne Niswonger, 99, Newry, passed away Sunday at home.
She was born in Eldorado, daughter of the late Edgar James Niswonger and Gertrude Elizabeth (Smith) Niswonger-Peck.
Surviving are a son, George Glass (Audrey) of Newry; three grandchildren: Allen Glass (Cathy) of Duncansville, Rick Glass of Lexington, Ky., and Bonnie Frederick (Mark) of Altoona; seven great-grandchildren: Rusty Glass (Betty) of Bellefonte, Veronica Greim (Matt) of Morton, Rikky Oakley (Randy) of Lexington, Ky., and Marie, Emily, Luke and John Frederick, all of Altoona; six great-great-grandchildren: Ryan, Zach, Jamie, Payton, Sofia and Cora; a sister, Gloria Feathers (Jack) of Claysburg; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Niswonger of Aberdeen, Md.
She was preceded in death by siblings: Harvey and Clarence Niswonger, Edna (Peck) Beck and Cletus and Dick Peck.
Myrtle was a lifelong member of Newry Lutheran Church. She retired from Sylvania after 38 years of service and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 5 until the 7 p.m. funeral service Friday, June 20, 2014, at Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom, the Rev. Michael L. Rhyne officiating. Interment will be at Newry Lutheran Cemetery.
