Gloria M. Laino, 80, Cresson, died Sunday at home surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
She was born in Cresson, daughter of the late James and Lillian (Conrad) McClure.
Surviving are five children: Joseph A. Jr. (Susan Eash) and Thomas (Nancy Buck), both of Cresson, Ronald of Lewisburg, James (Jean Oxford) of Lilly and Linda Harker (Victor) of Cresson; 11 grandchildren: Robyn, Rebecca, Stephanie, Seth, Richard, Eva, Jared, Sean, Anna, Nicole and Jaden; a step grandson, Joshua; four great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Maddox, Brody and Sarah; a sister, Florence Mack (Tom) of Pittsburgh; and her cat, Kimba.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Laino Sr., on Dec. 18, 2007; four sisters: Melba Adams, Deanna Reffner, June Cicero and Rose Marie Pupo; and two brothers: Donald and James.
Gloria retired as secretary of nursing at Mount Aloysius College, Cresson. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish and Senior Citizens, both of Cresson, and the Red Hat Society. An avid bingo player, Gloria enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and doing crossword puzzles.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at St. Francis Xavier Church, by the Rev. Leo F. Arnone. Committal will be at the church cemetery.
