Chad Michael Garber, 38, Tyrone, died unexpectedly Thursday at the home of his parents at 346 Gates Hill Road, Tyrone.
He was born in Altoona, son of Daniel D. and Nancy (Grager) Garber Jr. He was married to Lori Garber of North Carolina.
Surviving are his parents; two brothers: Ronnie Garber (Buffy) in Tennessee and Jason D. Garber (Amy L.) of Altoona; his grandmother, Betty Grager of Bellwood; and five nieces and nephews: Lindsey Farabaugh in Maryland, Jenna and Devon Garber of Altoona, Brooklin and Derrick Garber in Tennessee
Chad was a 1993 graduate of Tyrone Area High School and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a specialist in the 82nd Airborne Division.
Chad was a member of the Graystone Hunting Camp in Warriors Mark, Hookies Fire Company and V.F.W. Post 4559. He always enjoyed the outdoors and his pet frog.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, with the Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park with Military Honors by the Tyrone Honor Guard.
