With its shelter at capacity, the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society in Altoona has lowered adoption fees for dogs and cats to help spur adoptions.
The shelter is open for visits with the animals Thursdays through Tuesdays from 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. On Fridays our hours are extended to 7:00 p.m. The Shelter is closed to the public on Wednesdays.
In a press release, Rick Vanevenhoven, CPHS acting executive director, emphasized, "Everyone can do something! Please consider adoption. If you can't adopt, can you foster a dog or cat in your home for 4-6 weeks? If you can't foster, can you sponsor the adoption fee for someone else? These animals who cannot speak for themselves are counting on each of us in the community to help. We are at capacity and need everyone's help."
