LEADING OFF: The Curve and Portland were suspended because of rain in the middle of the third inning Wednesday night, with the Sea Dogs leading, 2-1. They will complete the suspended game to nine innings today at 5 p.m., then play a seven-inning game. The originally scheduled starting pitchers were Curve RHP Nick Kingham (1-7, 3.04) and Sea Dogs LHP Mickey Pena (2-1, 6.17).
SAFE AT FIRST: "American Pickers" fans can meet Danielle Colby at tonight's game. She will be on hand to throw out a ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs for two hours.
STEALING SECOND: The Curve defense has racked up 76 errors, most in the Eastern League.
ROUNDING THIRD: Portland INF Stefan Welch returned to Altoona on Tuesday, making him the second former Curve player to play for their opponent in three home series. 2010 team MVP Hector Gimenez recently made an appearance at Peoples Natural Gas Field with New Hampshire.
HEADING HOME: Entering Wednesday night's action, former Curve INF Brock Holt was on a 10-game hitting streak with the Red Sox. He also celebrated his 26th birthday Wednesday.
