Eagle Scout fundraiser is Saturday
Eagle Scout candidate Joseph Lannoo, a junior at Altoona Area High School, will hold a pancake and sausage breakfast fundraiser and yard sale from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Juniata United Methodist Church, 808 N.?Fourth St.,?Altoona, to raise money for his Eagle Scout project.
Joseph's project consists of removal of an old ramp and building a much needed storage shed for Juniata UMC. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Tony Gallace and Eddie Zovinka, along with other Scouts from Troop 32, assisted the Hollidaysburg American Legion Post 516 at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Hollidaysburg with placing flags on veterans’ graves in preparation for Memorial Day.
Astronomy club plans sky watch
HOLLIDAYSBURG?-?The Starlight Astronomy Club will hold a free public sky watch from 8:30 to 11 p.m. Friday at Canoe Creek State Park.
Visitors are encouraged to take binoculars or telescopes. Club members will also have telescopes available for public use.
Highlights of the evening sky will be the planets, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, the moon and several deep-sky objects, including many galaxies and globular and open star clusters.
The club will be meeting in the parking lot on the beach side of the lake. The rain date will be Saturday.

Drive-ins to broadcast Buffett concert
CARROLLTOWN - Hi-Way Drive-In is hosting a special event on June 19.
