Senior driving programs offered
Seniors for Safe Driving will hold several highway safety education programs for seniors ages 55 and older in the area.
The programs are certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The successful completion of the program makes senior drivers eligible for a 5 percent discount on their automobile insurance premiums, across the board, for a period of three years. Receiving the discount is mandated by Pennsylvania state law.
Those who have never participated in a senior driving program previously must attend a two-day (four hours each) or one-day eight-hour standard class. To qualify for a one-day refresher program, seniors must have attended a senior driving program in the past.
To register for a class, call 800-559-4880 or visit www.seniorsforsafedriving.com.
