Robert Louis "Mitzi" Fratangeli, 74, Altoona, died Wednesday morning at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Bernidino and Rosemary (Mirabella) Fratangeli. He married Gayle Miller on Aug. 18, 1979.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters: Alishia Marie Fratangeli, Christine Ann Wentz and husband, Brandon, and Lisa Ann Fratangeli, all of Altoona; four grandchildren: Cameron Jacob Pittman, who was raised in the home, Jordan Ann Fratangeli, Bailey Nicole Hoover and Maverick Lee Wentz; a sister, Mary Ellen O'Connor and husband, Cyril "Bob"; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin John; and a daughter, Gina Marie.
Mitzi was formerly employed by Conrail in both the Samuel Rea and Juniata shops. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching wrestling, and he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.
At the request of the family, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church, Altoona, the Rev. Ronald Anderson officiating.
