Monique Henriette Bolan, 89, passed away July 6, 2013, at Aberdeen Assisted Living, Rockville, Md.
She was born in Paris, France, daughter of Bernard Francis and Andre Rose (Martine) O'Connor. After the death of her mother, she was raised in the Juniata section of Altoona by her father and grandparents.
Surviving are a daughter, Monique Antoinette Bolan of College Park, Md.; a favorite sister-in-law, Veronica Bolan of Apple Valley, Calif.; and a cousin, John L. O'Connor of Phoenix, Ariz., who was also raised in their grandparents' home.
Monique was a 1942 graduate of Altoona High School. She also graduated from the Altoona School of Commerce and was a member of the Alpha Iota business sorority.
On June 15, 1955, Monique married Philip L. Bolan, also of Juniata, and they moved to Brentwood, Md. Philip preceded her in death on April 12, 2002.
While living in Altoona, she was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Girl Scouts of America. She was employed as a receptionist by several Altoona doctors and at Altoona Hospital in the Radiology Department. She had also been employed by Altoona Trust Co. as a courier.
Monique is interred next to her beloved husband in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Md.
