William E. Miller, 86, Fallentimber, died Sunday at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care.
He was born in Honestown, son of Frank and Jessie (Myers) Miller. He was raised by his stepfather, Charles Shultz. He married Geraldine Henninger on Sept. 25, 1948.
Surviving are his wife; five children: William E. Jr. (Kemthong) of Altoona, Karen Wanyo (Charles) of McAdoo, Michael of Fallentimber, Ronald (Lori) of River View, Fla., and Randy of Tyrone; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and five siblings: Charles Shultz (Evagene), Sue Scordo (Joe) and Don Shultz (Jane), all of Tyrone, Boyd Shultz of Johnstown and Joann (Miller) Peletier in Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ken Miller.
William retired in 1990 from the finishing room of Westvaco after 25 years of service and had previously worked for Claster Lumber Co. in Bellefonte. He was a member of the former Citizens Fire Company and then the Hookies Fire Company, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, the Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
