James L. Ritchey, 81, Altoona, died Saturday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Broad Top, son of the late Floyd and Mildred (Reed) Ritchey.
Surviving are a special friend, Pearleen Allison of Altoona; a nephew, Jeff Cogan of Martinsburg; four nieces: Carol Cogan of Everett and Jayme Clark, Cindy Morgan and Robin Knepp, all of Saxton.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris; a brother, William; and two sisters: Helen Ritchey and Arlene Cogan.
James was employed as an equipment operator for New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. Inc. and later for PennDOT. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to auctions.
Friends will be received from 9 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, June 3, 2014, in the chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, Bedford, with Pastor Alfred Chamberlain officiating.
