The Affordable Care Act is a free market product to be sold for profit.
Profit is always the top priority of free market corporate enterprises. Providing health care for Americans takes a back seat to profits and is simply the conduit for billions in profits that the corporations squeeze out of us. The insurance cartel is not interested in giving the people authentic, inexpensive health care.
Its only purpose is to make obscene profits by figuring out ways to deny us as much medical care as they can possibly get away with.
PA Senate Bill 400 is a stellar PA health care plan that was shelved after Gov. Tom Corbett and the present group of legislators came to power in the last election. It's paid for by a 3 percent wage tax on all employees and a 10 percent tax on all employers.
The present rate for employer-provided heath plans is 10 percent for employees and 30 percent for employers. The present standard only applies to employers who provide insurance.
Senate Bill 400 provides comprehensive health care, including dental and vision to all Pennsylvanians, from the cradle to the grave.
The state, under this plan, would only be the payer of health care needs; and have nothing to do with doctors, hospitals or any health care provider, as far as control or choice is concerned. A cost study has been done.
The results conclude that this bill will cover everyone and save on the cost of health care for people and the state. It insures that all health care providers are paid fairly and adequately.
The bill also provides more opportunities to increase the number of primary care physicians and clinics. The bill is only 29 pages and written in understandable text. Look it up on the Internet. After reading it, I encourage you to write or call your state senator and representative and tell them to support this bill.
Why are we entrapped in greed-based, free market systems for the profit of the few, leaving those in need of health care in confusing and costly health care plans, or with no health care at all?
