ERIE - The Curve offense enjoyed a big night Friday, highlight by bookend three-run homers in the first and ninth innings.
Elias Diaz got Altoona off to a good start with a three-run blast in the first, and Matt Curry ripped another three-run shot in the ninth. Mel Rojas Jr. also smacked a two-run shot as the Curve belted their way to an 11-6 win over Erie at Jerry Uht Park.
The SeaWolves had rallied from an 8-1 deficit to make things interesting, pulling within 8-6 in the eighth inning. Curry then sealed the win with his three-run homer in the ninth.
Curry has been a big boost to the offense since returning from a wrist injury that cost him more than a year. He went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs Friday, and he's now hitting .324 with two homers and seven RBIs in 10 games.
Curry got the Curve on the board with an RBI single in the first. Diaz, who has put together a strong season hitting .311 but hasn't hit for much power, then put a charge into a three-run homer for a 4-0 lead.
Tonight: Altoona at Erie, doubleheader at 4:35 p.m.

Stetson Allie singled home two runs in the fifth, and Rojas smacked a two-run homer in the seventh to make it 8-1.
Curve starter Zack Dodson (1-2) pitched five solid innings, allowing one run on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks. He earned his first Double-A victory.
Reliever Quinton Miller gave up four runs in 1 1/3 innings as Erie battled back. Emmanuel De Leon preserved the win, tossing two innings to earn his third save.
Erie starter Wilsen Palacios (3-2) suffered the loss.
The Curve had 10 two-out RBIs, as all three of their homers came with two outs, as well as Allie's two-run single.
Rojas joined Curry with three hits, while Drew Maggi added two. Eight of the Curve's nine starters collected at least one hit as the team finished with 13.
