Alexander Blair Barkman, 20, Roaring Spring, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday at UPMC Bedford Memorial.
He was born in Roaring Spring, son of Lance and Tammy (Lamborn) Barkman.
Surviving are his parents; a brother, Logan Christopher of Roaring Spring; his grandparents: Arlen and Dolores Barkman and Merle and Phyllis Lamborn; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Alexander was attending Penn State Altoona. He had worked at Barkman Oil and assisted with funerals at S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home, Woodbury, and he had recent summer employment at Omni Bedford Springs Resort. He was a member of Woodbury Church of the Brethren.
Alexander enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, singing in the church choir and spending time with family and friends. He was a two-time place winner in the Bloody Run Canoe Classic, a Roaring Spring Troop 57 Eagle Scout and an organ donor with CORE.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Woodbury Church of the Brethren, Pastor Mark Muthler officiating. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
