Volunteers are needed for the United Way of Blair County's 21st annual Day of Caring, which will be held on June 18.
Nonprofit groups and human service agencies have requested help with multiple projects which will require 300 volunteers to complete.
Businesses, community groups, families, sports teams and individuals are invited to take part in this annual event that provides a day of volunteer assistance to nonprofit and human services agencies from throughout Blair County.
Volunteer opportunities exist in Altoona, Bellwood, Tyrone, Hollidaysburg, Claysburg, Roaring Spring, Martinsburg and Williamsburg. This year's list of projects includes both indoor and outdoor projects.
Outdoor projects include yard work, such as landscaping and gardening, painting, cleaning, spending time on a mural walk with children from the Big Brothers Big Sisters program or helping with a client picnic and outing.
Indoor projects include sorting books, cleaning windows and painting rooms.
United Way seeks to fill unmet needs in the community while providing a quality volunteer experience for supporters through the Day of Caring event.
