Expo donates $2,650 to cancer society
The 2014 Pennsylvania Adventure RV Expo, held Feb. 27 to March 2 at the Blair County Convention Center, donated a portion of its proceeds to the American Cancer Society.
Pennsylvania Adventure RV Expo donates annually to the Cancer Society, with this year's donation totaling $2,650, historical giving reaching more than $26,000.

Each year, members of the American Cancer Society volunteer their time to help sell tickets at the door during Pennsylvania Adventure RV Expo.
The show promoter, DiAndrea Promotions, significantly increased attendance at this year's event, bringing in a variety of entertainment, fun and new ideas about family camping.
Entertainment included Hubie the Clown, Pennsylvania Bigfoot Investigations, Bald Eagle presentations and more.
"This year's show was all about the family," said Rachel DiAndrea of DiAndrea Promotions. "We look forward to continuing our support of the American Cancer Society while further growing the show in 2015."

Barbecue set for Memorial?Day
PLEASANTVILLE -?A Memorial?Day chicken barbecue will be held starting at 11 a.m. Monday at the Alum Bank Firehall, which is on Route 96 north of Route 56.
The cost is $9 for a half chicken plus sides, $6 for just chicken and $6 for a child's dinner.
The event is sponsored by the Alum Bank Community Fire Company.

Hospital foundation plans golf outing
TYRONE - The Tyrone Hospital Foundation will hold its 13th annual golf tournament on Aug. 27 at Sinking Valley Country Club.
The tournament is a best-ball four-man scramble, with registration beginning at 8 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Colonial Courtyard Tyrone is this year's outing sponsor.
Additional sponsorship and golfer opportunities are limited. The following sponsorship levels are as follows:
Corporate sponsor: $ 1,500, which includes signage at the course, fee for a team of four, pre-tournament publicity and distribution of company marketing materials at the event.
Course sponsor: $750, which includes signage at the course and fees for a team of four.
Beverage cart sponsor: $500, which includes signage on the beverage cart.
Tee/green sponsor: $250, which includes signage on a tee.
Four person team: $500, which includes fees for a team of four to golf and lunch.
This year's tournament will benefit Tyrone Hospital's capital campaign, which will fund an extensive hospital renovation project slated to begin in early 2015.

Wing Night planned in Blue Knob
Area residents are invited to the first Wing Night/
Basket Raffle of 2014 on May 31 at the Blue Knob Volunteer Firehall.
All proceeds benefit the Blue Knob Community Play Park initiative. The proceeds from this event are specifically going toward a basketball court area, signs for the park area and trash receptacles.
Wings start selling at 5 p.m., and the tickets for the raffle will be drawn at 7:30 p.m.
Prices are as follows:
n Dozen wings, $8.
n Half dozen wings, $5.
n Meal (dozen wings/fries/bottled water), $10.
n French fries, $2.
n Drinks, $1.
n Basket raffle tickets, two for $1, 12 for $5 and 30 for $10. You do not have to be present at the time of the drawing in order to win.
A bake sale also will be held.
Delphi Chapter plans spaghetti dinner
The Delphi Chapter No. 65, Order of the Eastern Star, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. May 31 at the Altoona Masonic Hall, 600 Jackson Ave., Altoona.
The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children.
