Deborah Mae "Debbie" (Gardner) Beck, 64, Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord Monday at home surrounded by her loving family after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Stuppio) Gardner. She married Robert Lee Beck on May 16, 1970, at Leamersville Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters: Renee Lynn (Beck) Gartland of Hopewell and Jennifer Lee (Beck) Zapotoczny of Roaring Spring; four grandchildren: Chelsee and Andrew Gartland and Cassidy and Riley Zapotoczny; five sisters: Patti (Bill) Sargent of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Barbara Gardner, Mary Whysong, Cindy Donelson and Christine Gardner, all of Altoona; and a brother, Ed Gardner (Charlene) of Riverside, Calif.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Antesberger; and four brothers: Wesley, William, Robert and Beverly.
Debbie was a 1968 graduate of Altoona Area High School. She retired as a nurse's aide from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, Leamersville Campus, and its Wednesday night prayer group. Her family was her entire world, and her eyes lit up when she was around them.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, May 17, 2014, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Pastor Mark Lingenfelter officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
