United Way seeks Day of Caring projects
The United Way of Blair County is soliciting volunteer projects from local nonprofit and human service agencies for its 21st Annual Day of Caring.
The Day of Caring promotes the spirit and value of volunteerism and increases the awareness of local human service agencies, as well as demonstrates how people working together for the good of the community can accomplish great things.
The 18th Annual Day of Caring will be held on June 18. Last year, more than 250 volunteers donated their time and effort to help more than 36 local agencies.
The projects in the past have included outdoor work such as landscaping and gardening, indoor jobs such as painting and cleaning, and assisting the people nonprofits serve with activities or events. This day is a time for volunteers from all areas to come together to make a difference for agencies in the community.
If you are interested in planning a Day of Caring event at your agency or organization, contact Vicky Buda at firstname.lastname@example.org or 944-0884 no later than May 23.
