Betty L. Fetzer, 87, Altoona, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening at her residence.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Harvey and Ann (Burkholder) Schimminger. She married Jack R. Fetzer Sr. on Aug. 22, 1949, in Winchester, Va., and he died on Sept. 2, 1993.
Surviving are a son, Daniel J. of Kladder Station; two daughters: Deborah A. Moyer (Gregory) of Altoona and Robin G. Walls (J. Michael) of Loop Station; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Schimminger of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jack R. Jr., on March 17, 2003; and a brother, John Schimminger.
Betty was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired in 1989 from Loungeray as a sewing machine operator. She loved bingo, poker, Pokeno, chocolate and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today, May 13, 2014, at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, by Pastor Bill Gualdoni. Interment will be in Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
