Grover C. Cramer, 87, Altoona, died Wednesday evening at the Hollidays-burg Veterans Home.
He was born in McAlevys Fort, son of the late Grover Cleveland and Mildred (Couch) Cramer. He married Mary Cramer on May 10, 2008, in Canton, Ohio. He was previously married to Lillian Cramer, who preceded him in death in February 2008.
Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Jean Cramer of Juniata and Shirley Ryan of Huntingdon, a brother-in-law, James Ryan of Altoona, a stepdaughter, Kathleen Knop of Inman, S.C.; a stepson, William Ryan in Oklahoma; two step-grandchildren: Kyle McNutt and Tabatha Gagean; four step-great-grandchildren: Richard II, Maikayla, Sarah and Alan Gagean; two sisters: Alice Bird and Wava (Meryl) Weaver; a brother, George (Jeanette); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Mountain; and a brother, Leon.
Grover was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII. He retired as a janitor from Weis Market, Huntingdon, in December 2003 after 10 years of service. He attended church at the Salvation Army, Altoona. He was a member of the Huntingdon VFW.
Grover enjoyed playing solitaire, puzzle books and watching people out the window.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., Captains Dave and Darlene Means officiating.
