LORETTO - St. Francis will open the 2014 college football season on the road at Fordham on Aug. 30 before playing its home opener a week later against Clarion on Sept. 6.
It will be the first meeting with Clarion since 1953.
SFU will hit the road for games against James Madison, Youngstown State and Wagner before returning to DeGol Field on Oct. 18 when it hosts Bryant. Other home games include Nov. 1 against Duquesne and Nov. 22 against Central Connecticut State.
The Red Flash will also play Sacred Heart and Robert Morris on the road.
SFU went 5-6 last year and went 3-3 in Northeast Conference play.
PSU Altoona in tourney
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After earning its automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament on Sunday with an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship win, the Penn State Altoona softball team will be sent to compete in the Ithaca Region of the postseason bracket beginning this Friday.
On Monday, the NCAA Division III Softball Committee announced the 62 teams that will compete in the Division III Softball Championship. The tournament will use a new format this year that includes a super regional round of competition. The regional rounds will be played May 9-11 across the country.
The Ithaca Region will be hosted by Ithaca College at the school's Kostrinsky Field. In addition to Ithaca and Penn State Altoona, SUNY Oneonta and Rowan University round out the regional double-elimination bracket.
Penn State Altoona will face Ithaca in the Lady Lions' opening game of the tournament on Friday. Game times and a full schedule for the regional bracket will be announced Tuesday.
The Lady Lions' NCAA Tournament berth this season is the second in program history after the team made its NCAA postseason debut last May in the Salem Region.
The squad defeated Mount Aloysius College, 10-5, this past Sunday in the conference title game to clinch their automatic bid this year.
