Martha E. Hale, 71, Duncansville, died Saturday at Country Manor, Duncansville.
She was born in Grazierville, daughter of Harold E. and Bertha E. (Brubaker) Sprankle. She was twice married, first to Richard Light and then to Fred Hale, who both survive.
Surviving are eight children: Richard Charles Light of Claysburg, Kathy Bathurst (Brian) of Altoona, Timothy James Light (Debbie) of Westover, Allen Thomas Light (Rhonda) of Altoona, Greg Love of Houtzdale, Dwight David Light (Sebrina) of Petersburg, Michael Lynn Light of Tyrone and Fred Hale Jr. (Kerri) of Altoona; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Harold "Ben" Sprankle of Greenwood and Robert E. Sprankle of Blandburg; and two sisters: Helen L. Shock of East Freedom and Sara J. Fornari of Altoona.
She was a homemaker and a caregiver for many years, a people-person who loved music and parties.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 today, May 5, 2014, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, by Pastor Kathy D. Colebank. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
