Ronald V. Lingenfelter, 79, Riggles Gap Road, Altoona, passed away Thursday at home.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert and Hazel (Minnick) Lingenfelter. He married Marlene Nebgen on Sept. 23, 1961.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years; a daughter, Renee Myers in New Jersey; a brother, Terry L. and wife, Becky; and two grandchildren: Allison and Brian.
Ron was a 1952 graduate of Altoona High School and a graduate of Penn State University with a master's degree in biology. He served in the U.S. Army as a Spc. 4. Ronald retired from the Altoona Area School District as an earth science and biology teacher, having served at Logan and Keith junior high schools.
Ron was a lifetime member of the Logan Valley Broncs, Bellwood. He was a member of Masonic Mountain Lodge 28, various tennis groups, Country Friends Line Dancing Club of Juniata, E/W Country Line Dancing Club, Rails to Trails and Juniata Audubon Society.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at Asbury United Methodist Church, Asbury Lane, Altoona, where a memorial service will immediately follow by the Rev. Carol Gathagan. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.
