Charles F. Murawsky, 90, Windber, passed away Wednesday.
He was born in Windber, son of the late Stanley and Bella (Jjamiolkowski) Murawsky.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Margaret H. (Volk); a son, Gregg and wife, Sharon (Pipta), of Altoona; two grandchildren: Mandy of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Matt of Hoboken, N.J.; two sisters: Mary Ludwig in Michigan and Genevieve Snyder of Windber; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Walter, Chester and Edward; a sister, Helen Ludwig; and two brothers-in-law: Stanley Ludwig and Robert Snyder.
Charles was a 1942 graduate of Windber High School. He retired as a chemist from Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown, Franklin Laboratory, with 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber, where he was a former member of the church council and cemetery committee.
Charles was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was an avid Pitt fan and loved to walk.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber, the Rev. Martin Cingle as celebrant. Interment will be in SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Cemetery, Windber.
