Susan Joy Skillings, 58, Pittsburgh, died Wednesday morning at Family Hospice and Palliative Care, Pittsburgh.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Miriam "Peg" (Barr) Campbell and the late Howard J. Campbell II. She was formerly married to Charvi Skillings and then married Roy M. Brooks.
Surviving are her husband, Roy; two sons: Idan Skillings of Roaring Spring and Adrien Skillings of Connellsville; five grandchildren: Jayden, Olivia, Brooklyn, Jayce and Jeremiah; two stepchildren: Roy Brooks Jr. of Pittsburgh and Jenena Brooks of Braddock; two step-grandchildren: Jaidan and Nyier; her mother of Bellwood; a brother, H. James (Patrice) Campbell III of State College; two sisters: Marylou (David) Moody of Conneaut, Ohio, and Amy (Ray) Zettle of Bellwood; and nieces and nephews.
Susan was a 1974 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. She retired as a corrections officer from the State Correctional Institution at Pittsburgh, North Side, after 17 years of service. She was a member of Bellwood Church of the Brethren, and she enjoyed reading and vacations at Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood.
