Carol A. Vladic, 74, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Johnstown, went home to be with the Lord Saturday at her home after a very courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Lewistown, daughter of the late Dr. Samuel K. and Claire (Foreman) Schultz. She married Michael Vladic Jr. on May 26, 1962, in Johnstown.
Surviving are her husband; two sons: Michael Karl and wife, Debbie, of Duncansville and David Scott and wife, Patty, of Charlotte, N.C.; a granddaughter, Taylor Vladic; a brother, Frederick F. Schultz and wife, Vickie, in Georgia; a sister-in-law, Joyce Jones; a niece, Jonlyn Cook; two nephews: Bill and Sam Schultz; and her best friend, Dr. Patty Meintel.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Schultz Jr.
Carol was a 1958 graduate of Johnstown High School and a 1961 graduate of Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. She had been employed as an RN at Altoona Hospital, retiring in 2007. She was a member and elder of Ward Avenue Presbyterian Church.
Carol enjoyed cooking, traveling, dogs, collecting teddy bears and spending time with family and friends.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m., the Rev. Robert A. Boyar officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
