Forty years ago, I started delivering the Altoona Mirror.
It was my first job and taught me responsibility and the value of a dollar. Today (April 10, 2014) the Mirror was delivered to me in Panama City, Fla.
It wasn't as heavy as I remember as a young boy. I didn't have to unfold it, and my hands weren't smudged with ink stains. It was a digital version complete from the first page to the last. I read every story, advertisement and page.
It reconnected me with the town I grew up in and continue to have pride in being an Altoonan. I still know the value of a dollar and believe getting the Altoona Mirror delivered to my electronic device daily is worth every penny.
