Luensmann’s gem leads Devils by Hornets

BELLWOOD - Bellwood-Antis' Chad Luensmann outpitched Juniata Valley's Caleb Taylor in an Inter-County Conference 3-1 victory for the Blue Devils in high school baseball Wednesday.

Luensmann struck out nine and walked none while allowing just five hits and a run. Taylor also walked none and allowed five hits.

Tanner Snyder drove in a pair of runs for Bellwood-Antis, which improved to 9-0.

DAVIDSVILLE - Bailey Kerch tossed a two-hit shutout and also drove in three runs with two hits to lead Portage to a WestPAC rout of Conemaugh Township.

Mike Bryja also knocked in three runs with a pair of hits for Portage, which stayed unbeaten at 6-0 overall and in the conference.

Kerch struck out 11 Conemaugh Township batters.

A six-run second inning triggered Northern Cambria's sixth win in eight overall games, as the Colts improved their conference record to 6-1.

HOUTZDALE - Winning pitcher Luther Harlow tossed a two-hit complete game, striking out eight batters, and he also helped himself at the plate by collecting three hits, including a two-run homer, while knocking in four runs, to lead Moshannon Valley to a victory over Harmony.

Cody Marshall was 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs for Mo Valley, which improved to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the league.

Altoona Teener Major

Nate Everhart hit the go-ahead double in the top of the seventh inning to score Isaac Ciprich as Police rallied past Furrer Beverage, 6-5, in Altoona Teener Major League action at Seitz Field.

Cory Love had three hits, and Thomas McKeon added two hits for Police.

Logan McGeary homered and struck out 11 for Furrer Beverage, who managed just McGeary's hit.

Alex Schmoke, Gavin Black and Jarrett Grove had three hits each for AAOC, and teammate Luke Keenan had two hits. Nate Cherry and Daniel Potopa had two hits apiece for Cumming.
